Uncle Tom was born here in Court 15 Inge Street (known at the time as Mr Wilmore’s Court) on the 16th of March 1841. Here we are almost two centuries later with an opportunity to hear about the small court of eleven back to back houses that was his home for all of his 72 years. The story starts before the Court was built, when the land here was countryside. We will time travel though four decades in the 19th & 20th centuries and meet four of the families who lived and worked here.
